"I have found that those who admire my work the most seem to have a similar spirit of wonder and curiosity, and a willingness to step just beyond the restrictions of reality. " excerpt from Fine Visions/Kansas City
Tulsa artist Claudia Kates Doyle becomes quite passionate and excited when describing her career as an artist. And for good reason. Her work has shown in many prestigious shows and venues, such as the American Art in Miniature at Gilcrease, Cowboy Hall of Fame, Philbrook and Spiva Museums. And she was thrilled to have won the coveted Lovell Award for Painting at the National Arts Club.
Whether creating an oil painting or a mixed-media piece, Claudia's first consideration is composition and an emotional response to the subject. She brings the viewer into the picture by manipulating color and design. Working both Plein Air and in the studio she attempts to keep a true looseness to her work. The love of process and the pure joy of painting are what inspire her.
